Life prediction method based on characteristic of cyclic stress

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Based on the characteristics of cyclic stress of two nickel-based superalloys, i. e., the cyclic softening followed by hardening of powder metallurgy (PM) FGH95 and the cyclic softening of cast GH4169, a stress-weaken damage model (SWDM) was established to evaluate the effect of load histories on lives. The model can be used to predict the fatigue lives under different cyclic loading conditions, of which prediction the accuracy is not less than that of traditional methods, and its most significant advantage is to greatly reduce the number of samples for life modeling.
