N2 - Product reliability-oriented quality improvement in the manufacturing stage has great significance to reduce the loss of product design reliability during manufacturing process. Therefore, a novel KRCs (key reliability characteristics) driven product manufacturing quality improvement approach with the aid of Six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) procedure is proposed. First, the connotation of product manufacturing reliability and product KRCs are presented, then the degradation mechanism of product manufacturing reliability is expounded; Second, on the basis of degradation mechanism of product manufacturing reliability, an identification and decomposition method based on QFD and VMEA for product KRCs is put forward; Third, a KRCs driven product manufacturing quality improvement approach by adopting DMAIC is established, and the key technique of Response surface methodology based tolerance optimization is expounded. Finally, a key subway parts manufacturing quality improvement example is provided to verify the proposed approach.
