Abstract
The modeling method of viscous terms of Navier-Stokes equations using distributed viscous body forces was investigated. Then a fast calculation code for the three-dimensional(3-D) unsteady flow in turbomachine was developed, by solving 3-D unsteady Euler equations with the distributed viscous body force model. The code was used to simulate the unsteady flow in a two-stage compressor under circumferential total pressure inlet distortion, and the results were compared with Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) results. This demonstrates that, in the simulation of the unsteady flow in the multi-stage compressor under inlet distortion, the results obtained by the distributed viscous body force model agree well with the RANS results, with substantially less computational cost.
