Abstract

In this research, three dimensional full-loop CFPD simulation was conducted on a pressurized circulating fluidized bed (PCFB), to investigate the gas-solids hydrodynamic behaviors as well as the particles circulation flux. Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) measurements, combined with the cross-correlation analyses, were conducted in the cyclone dipleg to obtain the particles concentrations, velocities and circulating flow rates in a non-intrusive way. This study shows that the particles circulation flux predicted by CPFD simulation of different operating conditions agree well with the ECT measurement results.
