Abstract

Viewing angle enhanced integral imaging display which consists of a double-micro-lens array and a display panel is proposed. The double-micro-lens array includes a convex-micro-lens array and a concave-micro-lens array. In the display, the space-multiplexed elemental image (SMEI) array is an image of the real elemental image array through convex-micro-lens array. Compared with real elemental image, the pitch for each SMEI is magnified by the corresponding convex-micro-lens. As a result, each SMEI is overlapped with adjacent SMEIs. And the viewing angle is expanded. Some computer simulations based on ray-tracing are implemented. The experimental results demonstrate the correctness of the proposed display.
