N2 - Traditional overhead transmission line insulator defect detection is generally carried out through manual inspection. The growth in the number of overhead transmission lines has made the inspection scale more massive and the inspection environment more complex, amplifying the shortcomings of the traditional insulator defect detection method with high labor cost and low detection efficiency. For the monitoring of insulator leakage current in the complex electromagnetic field of transmission lines, a leakage current sensor based on TMR technology is developed with porcelain insulators as the experimental object. The sensor works based on the effect and realizes the measurement of leakage current. The experimental results show that the developed sensor has good stability, can accurately measure the leakage current value of insulators, has the advantages of passive, strong resistance to electromagnetic interference, high sensitivity, etc., and provides a solution for passive online monitoring of insulators in the new type of power system.
