Abstract

The effects of artificial loading on the bone histomorphometiy was investigated to evaluate the influence of loading to disuse osteoporosis. Twenty-one female SD rats were divided randomly into 3 groups: control, suspended, suspend & loading. The suspend & loading group was loaded in self-made device by 3 N and 5Hz for 15 minutes per day. 4 weeks later, bone histomorphometry of tibia were observed by micro CT. Results demonstrated that the bone histomorphometiy parameters of cancellous bone of suspended group significantly differed from the control group and the suspend & loading group ( P < 0.05), while there were no significant difference between the control group and suspend & loading group ( P > 0.05). Artificial loading could improve the cancellous bone histomorphometiy parameter of suspend rats significantily.
