Abstract

A two-dimensional rectangular geometry used to simulate the electro-thermal de-icing system was modeled. The enthalpy method was applied to establish heat conduction governing equations considering the phase chang. The control volume method was adopted to discretize the governing equations, as well as initial and boundary conditions. The block-correction technique was used to improve the solving of the difference equations system. Comparison was made with previous studies of foreign paper and excellent agreement was achieved, documenting the validity of the improved numerical codes. The effects of time step and grid on the results of the simulation were analyzed.
