Abstract
An improved formula of stress intensity factors of DCB specimens is derived to consider root effect of deformation provided by the uncracked portion of the test piece by means of the modified beam theory with consideration of shear deformation and the energy release rate method. Furthermore, a review about the relevant conventional formula is carried out.
