Abstract

Three-axis inertially stabilized platform( ISP ) is used to stabilize the line of sight( LOS ) of an optical imaging sensor, such as CCD digital camera or television. But due to the existence of mass imbalance in the ISP, imbalance torque is inevitable under the effect of the slide vibration of the mobile vehicle, which will lead to degrade the ISP's accuracy and the degeneration of image quality. In order to attenuate the influence of the imbalance torque, a better practical solution is devised. The cause of the imbalance torque - the linear acceleration of the sensor - can be measured and fed forward to the gimbal drive motors. Matlab Simulation results show that the ISP's accuracy is improved with the approach.
