Hybrid Network-based Belief Reliability Fast Analysis for UAV Swarms

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

As an ad hoc network, UAV swarms have been widely applied in many task scenarios, in which the reliability is always an important index indicating the success of tasks. However, the existing research on the reliability modeling of the UAV swarm mainly focuses on the structure of UAVs rather than the task, and the models concerning the mission performance has not explored the reliability in depth. Facing with these problems, in this paper, a new modeling framework, called the hybrid network model, is proposed to model the UAV swarm in any task scenario. The belief reliability, which is a kind of performance-oriented method, is adopted for the reliability analysis of UAV swarms. As a specific application case, the reliability of a multi-UAV formation network analyzed and evaluated based on the proposed method. These results have shown the effectiveness of the presented modeling framework and the reliability analysis method.
