Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach for truss topology optimization using a hybrid architecture that integrates gate-based quantum computers, quantum annealers, and classical computing platforms. By leveraging the parallelism and quantum superposition inherent in quantum computers, the proposed method significantly enhances optimization performance, yielding faster results and improved mechanical properties compared to classical methods. Additionally, quantum tunneling mechanisms are employed to efficiently conduct static analysis. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through three numerical examples, demonstrating its ability to handle truss topology optimization problems. This hybrid system offers a promising solution for intricate truss optimization tasks, highlighting the potential of quantum computing to advance engineering design and solve real-world challenges more efficiently.
