N2 - It is very hard and expensive to do reliability test for wireless mobile networks with its true form. OPNet is a simulation tool for network performance and reliability analysis, which is widely applied in industry. But a reliability simulation test design is usually absent when doing reliability evaluation on this platform. According to the traditional reliability test methods, this paper proposes a detailed process of how to do reliability simulation test for networks, including the failure distribution determination based on a simple pre-simulation, elements of simulation test design, simulation and reliability evaluation. The results of case study on a tactical internet show that the effectiveness of our proposed method, which is that 15 data sets are all successful verified and the two-terminal connective reliability curve is almost all in the confidence interval. This method reasonably gives a total simulation time and the maximum accepted number of failure as the main parameters of the simulation test. Moreover, this research presents a simulation test verification method, so that we can assess the design proposal reasonably.
