Abstract
Three targets magnetron sputter co-deposition method was adopted to prepare (Nb-Ti)1-x-ySixCry composition spread alloy film. Early hot corrosion behavior of the as-deposited alloy thin film with a mixture of Na2SO4+NaCl salt was investigated at 950 °C for 50 min. Three regions of distinct oxidation behavior can be observed. Region 1 with the composition of Nb-(10–16) Ti-(25–41) Si-(14–20) Cr (at. %) is mainly consisted of SiO2+CrNbO4 and has best oxidation resistance. The reason for that is higher diffusion energy barriers of oxygen in CrNbO4 and SiO2.
