Abstract

A High stability microwave-millimeter wave receiver without any Phase Locked Loops (PLLs) configured to measure magnitude and phase in a signal transmitted from a microwave or millimeter wave source is presented in this paper. It can be applied in measurements of transmission, return loss, radiation and scattering. Compared with traditional amplitude-phase measurement systems and network analyzers, it has simple construction and easy expansibility for frequency. As it has no PLL, it can give a more stable and accurate measurement of phase in a signal. It can also provide a Real-time tracking for the measured signal. For its great potentiality and expansibility, it has been put to use in antenna measurement and Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) testing successfully. System block diagram, Measurement Principle, Features and Main Specifications about this receiver are introduced here. At last, some graphs obtained in applications are provided. This receiver has been applied for patent.
