Abstract

The control system for IC engine transient operation experiments was developed with a step motor. Based on multiple threads and double buffer technologies of Windows OS, the high-speed real-time data acquisition and storage were achieved through A/D conversion, which was externally triggered by signals from a crankshaft angle sensor. The results of the bench test show that the data acquisition and control system can accomplish the control of engine experiments under different transient operations and acquire and store the real-time data during the experiments. The system paves the road to conducting the transient operation experiments and developing the control strategies.
