Abstract

In order to test the algorithms of star map identification and the performance of star sensor by simulating star map on the ground, a new and high precision method for simulating star map is presented. This method based on the forward ray tracing technology calculates the accurate position and intensity distribution of the star image on the CCD plane by calculating the reflection and the refraction with the position and intensity of the star and the shape and material property of the optical lens. The simulation result shows that compared with current common star map simulation methods, the proposed method features high-precision and fast speed of calculating.
