Abstract

In accordance with the deficiency of four-satellite positioning method, it was proved in theory that GDOP decreases as the increase of the number of satellite. The least square recurrent estimated algorithm of positioning solution was proposed based on the existing positioning software. The purpose of the algorithm is to give the least computed amount in exchange for the effective improvement of the positioning precision. The fifth satellites was chosen from the surplus visible satellite. The method for choosing the fifth satellite was given, which enables GDOP5 to be minimized. The positioning information provided by the fifth satellite was used to correct the four-satellite positioning solution.
