Abstract

Dynamic coverage-based test case prioritization (TCP) approaches are usually used for resource-limited software testing activities. The greedy strategies (i.e., Additional and Total) are effective and classic methods by adopting dynamic coverage information. However, the test cases cannot be adjusted with the outputs of the test cases according to the test process. Once the order of the test cases appears deviation, the prioritization cannot allocate software resources properly. Besides, the effect of 'defect clustering' for TCP has not yet been studied. To alleviate the situation, a globally adjustable test case prioritization (GATCP) approach is proposed combined the coverage information and outputs of test case. Besides, the experiments indicate the proposed method performances better than the baselines in terms of defect detection rate.
