Abstract

Based on analysis of the CT-based surface reconstruction methods and 3D bone shape in robot -assisted knee surgery, a 3D geometric shape extraction of individual bone component in knee joint based on the Marching Cubes algorithm was proposed. The result was analyzed in details. The motion simulation in 3D virtual environment with OpenGL was conducted. The result showed that the file size was decreased. And the construction speed of 3D bone model was increased so that it could satisfy the demand of statistics, space registration, planning of operation, virtual simulation and kinematics of knee joint in the knee surgery.
