Abstract
Automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) has been studied widely because it's convenient, quick and exact in personal verification field. A fingerprint minutia first-matching method is proposed based on the structural features of minutia, and a genetic algorithm is applied to the further point-matching phase. This method has given good results in AFIS.
