Abstract

The effect of nickel-electroplating, cadmium-electroplating and passivating, zinc-electroplating and passivating treatment on galvanic corrosion of TA15-treated 30CrMnSiA couples was investigated in 3. 5%NaCl solution. The plated film on 30CrMnSiA and the corrosion morphology were observed by SEM. Considering the value of open circuit potential difference, galvanic potential and galvanic current of the different galvanic couples, nickel-plated 30CrMnSiA had the best galvanic corrosion resistance. There were pits on nickel plating and micro-cracks on cadmium plating. The corrosion of zinc plating made it stripped as layers.
