Function-network-based method analyzing integration of enterprise application systems

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

To deal with requirements of association analysis and representation among information, process and function, a formalized expression and integration analysis approach was proposed based on function network and commensalisms-function-network. In this model, the Enterprise Application System (EAS) was abstracted and encapsulated as a function network with process sequence and information flow which was composed of a series of function entities and relationship entities. The integration scheme of EAS was analyzed and optimized through the function network's horizontal conformity and vertical deployment. The practicality and validity of this new approach have been verified by an application example, in which the integration model of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Integrated Quality System (IQS) was constructed with a function-network hierarchy.
