Abstract

Large amount of data acquired by Fourier Transform Imaging Spectrometer (FTIS) needs to be compressed during transferring. Almost all methods show low efficiency in FTIS data compression. According to analyzing relationship between the high/low recovery spectrum and optical path difference, a Spectral Interpolating Prediction and Quantization Coding (SIP and QC) method is proposed. The 5:1 compression rate is acquired with the Relative Spectral Quadratic Error (RQE) less than 1%.
