Abstract
The flow characteristics of one axial compressor rotor with splitter and two normally designed rotors with different solidities were analyzed by the 3-D viscous code. The comparison shows that the mass flux in hub region was large and the shock wave system in tip region was desired. The analysis results show that the flow diffusion was effectively controlled by splitter. According to the calculated characteristics, the rotor with splitter can be operated with higher total pressure ratio, higher efficiency and larger mass flow than normally designed rotors, under the high loaded condition and with the same surge margin.
