Filter characterization of wavelet transform and its application in shock waveform measurement

Abstract

By analyzing Fourier spectra of wavelet function and scaling function, the filter characterization for logarithmic style resolution distribution of multiresolution analysis is presented. By analyzing the different characteristics of mechanical shock signal and noise with wavelet transform and lowpass filter, the denoising algorithm taking advantage of wavelet transform is described. The performances of denoising with lowpass filter and wavelet transform are compared for measured shock signals. The result shows denoising method based on wavelet is more effective.
