Abstract
A new optical fiber Bragg grating sensor for detection of hydrogen leakage was developed and the principle was introduced. The basic structure of the sensor included fiber Bragg gratings and deposited palladium film. The stress transfer model of the sensor was analyzed and the relationship between maximum wavelength shift and hydrogen concentration was constructed. The response of the sensor to hydrogen was measured. The analytical value was close to the experimental result.
