Abstract

Finite element model of biaxial tensile test of cruciform specimens with slots on arms is built in this paper. On the basis of optimized cruciform specimen shape, LY12M and 08Al specimens were simulated along different loading paths. The result shows that, in the central region of specimens, loading path has great influence on the maximum strain whereas almost has no influence on the distribution of stresses. So it is feasible to study the deformation behavior of sheet metals along different loading paths by using biaxial tensile test of cruciform specimen with slots on arms designed in this paper.
