Abstract

Two-stage matrix converter (TSMC) is highly competent in aeronautic applications. However, the phase of rectification stage of TSMC delays while the conventional modulation strategy is directly applied at medium frequency input. Thus reactive power factor changes and voltage ratio decreases. Moreover, both of their values fluctuate under variable frequency input. In this article, the reason of phase delay of rectification stage of TSMC was analyzed, and the value of phase delay was calculated based on trapezoid area. Feedforward correction algorithm was then proposed to compensate the phase delay, which was implemented based on look-up table method to increase the operation efficiency. Simulation and experiment results show that, phase delay of rectification stage of TSMC at medium frequency is compensated with the proposed feedforward correction algorithm, and the look-up table implementation meets the requirement of operation efficiency.
