Abstract

Stretch-bending formability of profiles is related with material property, section form and process parameters. Stretch-bending formability diagram of profiles is used to express quantitatively their relations. Based on the diagram, an evaluation expert system for stretch bending formability of profiles is developed. The general structure, function and implementation scheme of the system are analyzed and the key techniques and solution are studied. The system makes inference based on basic data in database and provides graphical display to show enough information to users. The system is implemented by object-oriented programming and modularized design. Typical examples prove the reliability of the system. The system can meet the demands of quality control in concurrent engineering condition. The work may be helpful for the extensive applications of stretch-bending process of profiles in industry.
