Experimental study drawbead unit simulation in auto-body panel forming

Abstract

By means of drawbead unit simulation experiment, the deformation regularity and characteristics of sheet metal in drawbead have been revealed. The influence of the drawbead geometries, blank holding force and die winding angle on drawbead restraining force have been obtained. The smaller the round radius, the bigger the drawbead restraining force. It grows linearly with the blank holding force and die winding angle increasing. The calculation model of drawbead restraining force has been presented. The result of calculation is basically the same as that of the experiment. The model can be used in building boundary conditions of numerical analysis in auto-body panel forming.
