Abstract
Experimental research on the turbine rear frame (TRF) was conducted. The flow field parameters were measured in different inlet Mach numbers and different inlet flow angles to analyze the angle rectification ability and the loss of the turbine rear frame. The research results show that the turbine rear frame whose blade profile has an extreme front loaded pressure distribution and is stacked at maximum thickness can turn the flow angle from the deflected axial direction to the axial direction and has little total pressure loss on the design point and off the design point. The change of the inlet Mach number has little effect on the outlet flow angle, but the increase of the inlet Mach number can lead to the increase of the total pressure loss. Moreover, the change of the inlet flow angle has relatively little impact on both the outlet flow angle and the total pressure loss, but the radial direction distribution of the outlet flow angle and total pressure loss will change when the inlet flow angle changes.
