title = "Experimental research and numerical analysis of the effects of blasting vibration on young concrete",
abstract = "During large airport projects, blasting works can bring adverse effects on young concrete and decrease its strength. To ensure concrete structures comply with design requirements, model tests and numerical simulations were conducted to study this effect on the strength of young concrete. The test applied pendulum blew to the cubes at different curing times and measured 18-day and 28-day compressive strengths. The results show that the effects on the strength of young concrete depend on the curing time at blasting. The decrease of the strength within the first 1-2 days is not obvious, but is more pronounced at 3-5days. After that period, it has no more effect. It was also revealed that longer curing times can heal concrete cracks which occurred during the blasting vibration. The results of prior research work and site testing can also contribute to establish the security technology index for related projects.",
