Evolution model of multiclass and multicriteria stochastic equilibrium traffic assignment based on ATIS

Abstract

In order to formulate the process of realizing stochastic user equilibrium, authors proposed an evolution model of multiclass and multicriteria stochastic equilibrium traffic assignment. In the model, all travelers in a traffic network were discredited into finite number of classes according to their values of time and each class was divided into two groups. Advanced traveler information system (ATIS) market penetration of each user was determined by information benefit. Travelers make their route choices by minimum impedance based on linear combination of travel time and travel cost. The fixed point existence of the model was analyzed by the fixed point theorem. Numerical experiment results show that the proposed model can converge to fixed points and can simulate the evolutional process of ATIS market penetration and path flow.
