Abstract

Cerenkov luminescence (CL) is a novel imaging modality that has recently been used in biomedical imaging field. However, there are plenty of limitations for the clinical transactions of Cerenkov luminescence imaging (CLI), due to the properties of CL. The newly developed europium-doped gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3:Eu) nanoparticles can interact with the CL and γ-radiation as well, generating a stronger red-shifted light, which is of great benefits for biomedical application and clinical transaction.
