Abstract

An advanced entry guidance scheme is presented in this paper. The guidance concept is based on regulation of the trajectory about the reference trajectory in the state space. At the core of the guidance approach is a closed-form, easily obtained linear time-varying guidance law that guarantees closed-loop stability when designed by following systematic steps. No on-line integrations or iterations are required, and few off-line parameter adjustments are necessary for different missions. The precision of this entry guidance algorithm is shown to be considerably higher than the existing schemes.
