Abstract

The lift and drag characteristics of double-delta wing configuration is superior to that of delta wing configuration. The engineering calculation of aircraft aerodynamics is the base to seek for the optimized aircraft design scheme with numerical methods. By using the semi-empirical engineering algorithm based on the idea of area ratio, the slope of life coefficient curve, the zero-lift drag coefficient and the induced drag factor of double-delta wing aircraft were calculated. The calculated results are verified and corrected by the data from wind tunnel tests. It is shown that the precision of the calculated results quite meet the requirements of conceptual aircraft design. The algorithm has been successfully adopted in the conceptual design of an aircraft version.
