Abstract
A viscous jet flow from a hemisphere-cylinder has been computed by numerical solution of three-dimensional compressible N-S equations by using Jameson's finite volume method. The main purpose of this paper is to compare the effectiveness of treatment methods for mixed (subsonic free-stream/supersonic jet flow) outflow boundary conditions including: 1)Riemann invariant method; 2) extrapolation from the interiors; 3) using the method 1 or 2 depending on the local Mach number; 4) characteristic theory method.
