Abstract
The effects of loading distribution on a vaned diffuser of a highly loaded centrifugal compressor were numerically investigated by NUMECA. Three kinds of loading distributions, i.e.: forward loading, backward loading and hub/tip loading, were discussed. Their effects on the vaned diffuser and the flow mechanism were analyzed. It is demonstrated that the vaned diffuser with hub/tip loading could achieve the best performance.
