Abstract

Aim: The introduction of the full paper reviews Refs. 2 through 7 and then, with the help of Fig. 1, proposes our effective method for dealing with the sudden losses of drive signals by inverter switches of IPMSM system during field-weakening high-speed operation. Sections 1 and 3 explain our effective method. Section 1 is entitled the simplified mathematical model of uncontrolled generation (UCG); Section 2 is entitled the simulation results of UCG transient process and their analysis; Section3 is entitled the improvements of UCG system. Fig.3 gives the simulation model of UCG; Figs. 4 through 7 present the simulation results and give the feedback power obtained throughout the transient process; Figs. 8 through 11 propose the circuit improvements for effectively charging the battery and avoiding as much as possible the destruction risks of battery, motor, inverter and other relevant components during UCG.
