Abstract
Considering the momentum capability, export moment, weight, volume, cost and complexity etc. of the flywheel operation device, the outline parameters of a reaction-wheel structure was designed dynamically optimum to satisfy the requirements that are as follows: (1) to ensure the reaction-wheel to arrive at an angle momentum level at designed angle velocity; (2) to ensure the reaction - wheel structure to satisfy the requirements of strength, stiffness, shape, size, etc.; (3) to farthest reduce the weight of the reaction-wheel structure. This optimum design was based on the multidisciplinary design optimization software ISIGHT and the large-scale general software ANSYS. The optimal result is satisfactory. The design idea and the method to establish the analytical model presented herein are useful for design of a series of reaction-wheel.
