Abstract

In the dynamic analysis of drum-type composite rotor, not only the dynamic behavior of rotor system but also the vibration characteristics of rotor should be studied. By reprogramming the finite element analysis software MSC/NASTRAN using DMAP program, the dynamic characteristics of rotating laminated composite shell and the influences of Coriolis force, centrifugal force and transverse shear force on natural frequencies were investigated and compared with the experimental results. It indicated that those forces have great influences on the vibration modes of rotating shell. There are forward and backward traveling waves even in the rotating coordinate system because of the Coriolis force.
