Abstract

Based on two sets of bridge model inverter DC main circuit parallel modulation mode, a high power ultra-audio frequency DC pulsed TIG welding machine was developed successfully by using dual DSPs parallel processing digital controlling way. The transition rate of the pulsed current in rising and falling edge of the welding machine is more than 50 A/μs, and the pulsed frequency can reach to 30 kHz and above. Applicability experimentations indicate that the ultra-audio frequency DC pulsed arc generated by the TIG welding machine is provided with arc-ultrasound effectiveness and with arc high frequency effect. The welding machine has a direct influence on enhancing the quality and performance of the welding joint.
