Abstract

Re element has garnered significant interest due to it can significantly enhance mechanical properties of single crystal superalloys. However, the mechanism is still unclear. The first reported Mo0.6Re0.4 new phase in this study provides critical insights for revealing the strengthening mechanism. This phase has a body-centered cubic (bcc) structure, distributed around the primary γ′ phase. High-throughput in-situ characterization demonstrated its content below 0.15 %. It's hard to distinguish and may be easily confused since its low concentration and the morphological and compositional characteristics are similar to known TCP phases.
