Abstract

Amid rapid advancements in various high-tech fields, digital twin technology stands out as a pivotal innovation in the digital era. It holds significant potential for transforming traditional marine manufacturing within the intelligent landscape of today's maritime industry. As marine diesel engine plays a crucial role in vessel propulsion and navigational safety, enhancing their safety and reliability through digital twin is essential. This study investigates the potential for developing and applying digital twin models in marine diesel engines, highlighting operational mechanisms and key technological aspects. It aims to provide a comprehensive roadmap for integrating digital twin technology with the operational frameworks of marine diesel engine, addressing current research gaps and limitations. Through detailed examination, the paper offers theoretical insights and methodological guidelines to advance the development of customized digital twin models for the maritime sector, thereby enhancing efficiency and safety in marine operations.
