Abstract

The space-variant spectral characteristics of near-range synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images significantly degrade the performance of conventional sidelobe suppression techniques. To address this, this paper proposes a spatially variant spectral affine transform (SVSAT), implemented via joint phase compensation and coordinate transformation, to align the local spectra across the image. Subsequently, 2-D spatially variant apodization (SVA) is applied for effective sidelobe suppression. Real-world experiments validate the superior reconstruction performance of the proposed method.
