Abstract

Many criteria and approaches are developed since multiaxial fatigue was studied on high-cycle fatigue and low-cycle fatigue. The high-cycle multiaxial fatigue criteria embrace equivalent stress criteria, critical stress criteria and stress invariant criteria, etc. among which the investigation concentrates mostly on the critical stress criteria. The low-cycle multiaxial fatigue criteria include equivalent strain criteria, critical strain criteria and energy approach, etc. and many researches are focused on the critical strain criteria and energy approach. However, only some parts of them are accepted universally and applicable to engineering. Several valuable criterions are reviewed. The advantage and disadvantage of them are generalized, and their validities are stated.
