Abstract
Due to the limitation of "distance-loss" model in wireless positioning of vehicular ad hoc networks, the paper presents an approximate positioning algorithm model based on triangle centroid according to this model. The model is marked by reasonable calibration method and the hardware and software experimental environment of vehicular ad hoc networks is established. The distance errors and position accuracy of the model is verified. The results show that over 95% of positioning accuracy experimental data is less than 3 m, and the wireless localization algorithm designed can satisfy positioning requirements of vehicle active safety at low speed.
