Abstract

A new method for signal generation was presented based on the ∑-Δ modulating technique and the lossless discrete integrator oscillator. With the exception of a comparator, the proposed circuit is entirely composed of digital parts. It is of significance to avoid the high-resolution multi-bit multiplication and to replace the multi-bit D/A modulator by the one bit D/A modulator. The whole circuit can be fabricated by the standard CMOS Technology, and can meet the large scale testable analog/mixed IC design. Finally, the six order illustrative example has shown that the oscillator has a 120 dB DR.
