Abstract

In this paper, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method and genetic algorithm (GA) are combined and applied to optimize the antenna radiation pattern of conformal array. We improve the traditional PSO method by using inertia weight factor and prevent PSO method from getting stuck at a local optimum. And circular and cylindrical conformal antenna arrays are investigated, respectively. Compared with the traditional PSO algorithm, the novel GA-PSO method can speed up the convergence.
